With joomla Articles if you change the title or title alias then the relative link to it (from another Article) should still work. The same is true for menu items also true if a menu item is moved.
Joomla creates dynamic url's to Articles, there are no physical files (for the Articles) on the server.
Problems usually occur when a url is hard coded into an Article.
